Ahmed Abou-Elnasr

Egyptian-Canadian composer, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and instrument builder based in Quebec. Born in 1979 in Egypt. Started playing keyboards at age 5, switched to guitar by age 11, picked up bass at 16 and drums at 17.

At 16, he began composing with a Phrygian-derived scale structure that would later become the Sacrifunk Scale — his first original composition on it was “Experience.” That discovery led to over thirty years of composition, original scales, five tuning systems, a library of interactive research tools, and a catalog of 32 original songs across 10 albums.

Every Sacrifunk recording is composed, performed, engineered, mixed, and mastered in-house — from the first note to the final bounce. The studio houses guitars, basses, drums, handpans, and a growing family of handcrafted Vibron instruments designed for alternative tuning systems.

The work is rooted in provable mathematics and real physics. No pseudoscience. No unsubstantiated claims. Just the sound of numbers made audible.
